You Feel Better. Now Let’s Resolve the Root of the Problem.
The RELIEF Phase was designed to help you feel better quickly.
During your first sessions, we focused on reducing the acute symptoms that were interfering with your life. Whether those symptoms involved anxiety, emotional pain, poor sleep, cravings, or something else, our immediate goal was to help you regain stability and begin feeling better.
RELIEF matters.
But RELIEF and RESOLUTION are not the same thing.
Feeling better does not necessarily mean the underlying problem has been fully resolved. In many cases, symptoms are the visible expression of deeper emotional, behavioral, or subconscious patterns that continue to operate beneath the surface.
Once the acute symptoms have improved, we have the opportunity to shift our attention from relieving the consequences of the problem to addressing its underlying causes.
That next phase of treatment is called RESOLUTION.
What Is the RESOLUTION Phase?
The RESOLUTION Phase begins once the immediate crisis has stabilized and we can shift our attention from relieving symptoms to understanding and addressing the processes that continue to produce them.
The purpose of this phase is not simply to provide temporary comfort, but to work toward genuine resolution of the underlying problem.
Hypnosis remains the principal tool we use during this phase, but it is used differently. As your treatment progresses, our work often becomes deeper and more focused, allowing us to explore the emotional, behavioral, and subconscious patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms.
If you have been invited into the RESOLUTION Phase, it is because you are no longer in acute distress and I believe you are in a position to benefit from this deeper work.
You have already experienced hypnosis, responded well enough to move beyond the acute phase, and are now ready to focus on the factors that may be sustaining the problem rather than simply managing its consequences.
One way I explain the difference is this:
RELIEF focuses on the consequences of the problem. RESOLUTION focuses on its underlying causes.
Every person is different. Your RESOLUTION Phase will be individualized to your needs, goals, and response to treatment.
Why Continue from RELIEF to RESOLUTION?
The RELIEF Phase is designed to stabilize the immediate problem. Once that has been accomplished, we have the opportunity to focus on something different: addressing the underlying causes that continue to produce the symptoms.
If you have been invited into the Resolution Phase, it means you have already made meaningful progress. You are no longer in acute distress, and we can now begin working from a position of greater emotional stability, clarity, and perspective.
For many people, this is the most productive time to pursue deeper therapeutic work.
The RESOLUTION Phase may be appropriate if:
- You feel significantly better but know the problem has not been fully resolved.
- Your symptoms improve but tend to return during periods of stress.
- You recognize patterns in your life that seem to repeat themselves.
- You want to reduce the likelihood of future relapse.
- You want to address the underlying causes of your symptoms rather than repeatedly treating their consequences.
- You are ready to move beyond crisis management toward lasting change.
An Important Note
One of the principles behind my treatment model is that continuity, momentum, and therapeutic intensity matter.
For that reason, I recommend beginning the RESOLUTION Phase only when you are ready to engage in it as designed.
If now is not the right time, that is perfectly acceptable. Should you need care again in the future, we will simply begin with the RELIEF Phase again, and then determine together whether RESOLUTION is indicated.
How the RESOLUTION Phase Works
One of the principles behind my treatment model is that continuity and therapeutic momentum matter.
Over the years, I have found that meaningful resolution often requires more than occasional appointments. While individual sessions can certainly be helpful, deeper therapeutic work is frequently most effective when it is approached with consistency and continuity.
The RESOLUTION Phase was designed around this principle.
Rather than scheduling sessions at fixed intervals, we meet as often as is clinically appropriate during a one-month period. Some people require only a few sessions, while others benefit from meeting more frequently. The pace is determined by your needs and the progress we are making together.
Many aspects of these sessions will feel familiar because they build upon the work you experienced during the RELIEF Phase. At the same time, the focus changes. Instead of primarily reducing symptoms, our attention shifts toward understanding and addressing the underlying processes that continue to produce them.
The purpose of the RESOLUTION Phase is to create the conditions in which meaningful therapeutic work can occur. For that reason, it works best for individuals who are ready to engage in the process with continuity and commitment.
Regarding your Investment:
If you are reading this page, you have already experienced the RELIEF Phase and have a good understanding of how I work.
Since 1996, my practice has been built around a simple principle: design treatment according to what is most likely to help the client, not according to what is easiest to schedule or bill.
The structure of the RESOLUTION Phase reflects that philosophy.
Rather than charging for individual visits, the RESOLUTION Phase is organized as one month of care. During that month, we meet as often as is clinically appropriate to maintain continuity and therapeutic momentum. Between-session phone support is also included when needed.
The investment for the RESOLUTION Phase is $1,500 per month.
There is no contract and no automatic renewal. At the end of the month, we evaluate your progress together and determine whether additional RESOLUTION work is indicated.
Individual
My treatment model consists of three phases that have been developed and refined through nearly three decades of clinical practice.
RELIEF Phase: Designed to reduce acute symptoms and help you regain stability.
Investment: $200, which includes the initial session and the essential follow-up session.
RESOLUTION Phase: Designed to address the underlying causes and patterns contributing to your symptoms.
Investment: $1,500 for one month of care, including all clinically appropriate sessions during that month and between-session phone support when needed.
TRANSFORMATION Phase: Some people who complete the Resolution Phase may be invited into the Transformation Phase. This phase is no longer focused on resolving a specific problem, but on becoming the healthiest, strongest, and most authentic version of yourself. If this phase becomes appropriate for you, I will explain it in detail at that time.
Individual Sessions:
Not everyone who benefits from the RELIEF Phase chooses to continue immediately into the RESOLUTION Phase.
If you are not ready to undertake the RESOLUTION Phase, individual appointments remain available.
Investment: $200 per session.
Individual sessions are stand-alone appointments and are separate from participation in the RESOLUTION Phase.
NOTE: The structure and purpose for individual session is different than what it is for sessions within the RESOLUTION Phase.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why is the program intensive?
Emotional crises often respond better to concentrated care than to waiting a full week between sessions. The pace of the Program is tailored to your individual needs, goals, and progress.
Will I be hypnotized?
Yes. Hypnosis is one of the principal tools used throughout the Program. It is a natural state of focused attention in which you remain aware and in control throughout the process. Every session is individualized to your needs.
How does payment work?
Payment is done on a monthly basis at the rate of $1500 a month. There is no contract, and this payment does NOT auto-renew. This is intentional because 95% of the people I work with are done with RESOLUTION within that one month. If you have not achieved RESOLUTION during that month, you will need to sign up for another month at the same rate of $1500/month. If you just want an occasional session, the fee is $300 per session. All sessions are paid for at the time the appointment is booked.
